If you’ve never had colon hydrotherapy before, it’s completely normal to have questions — or even some nervousness. Many of our clients tell us afterward that the experience was nothing like what they imagined. Here’s what actually happens.
When You Arrive
You’ll be welcomed into a private, sanitized room. Your therapist will review your health history (for first-time visitors) and answer any questions you have before the session begins. For new clients, this includes a brief health consultation with your practitioner.
During the Session
You’ll change into comfortable shorts (provided) and lie on a padded table. A polar fleece blanket and hot rocks under your feet keep you warm and relaxed throughout.
The session itself involves warm, filtered water gently flowing into and out of the colon through a closed system (the Aquanet EC-2000). There is no mess and no odor. Your therapist remains nearby to guide the process and may use:
- Gentle abdominal massage to encourage release
- Deep breathing techniques
- Aromatherapy
- Foot reflexology
- Lymphatic pressure point therapy
A typical first session lasts 45–60 minutes. Returning clients typically need 25–45 minutes. You are always in control — the session can be paused or stopped at any time.
After the Session
A private bathroom is attached to the treatment room. Take your time. Many clients report feeling lighter, clearer, and more energized. Your therapist will discuss what happened during the session and any recommendations for follow-up — whether that’s scheduling another session, dietary suggestions, or simply drinking more water.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Our Aquanet EC-2000 is FDA-approved, UL-listed, and operates as a completely closed system. Key safety features:
- Maximum pressure of 2 psi — less than your body’s own peristaltic pressure
- Automatic temperature control at 100°F (38°C)
- Three-stage water purification (sediment, carbon, UV sterilization)
- Self-sanitizing between clients
- Disposable speculum and tubing for every session
Tips for a Better Experience
- Chew your food well — at least 25 times per bite, as a daily habit
- Avoid drinking during meals — this dilutes digestive enzymes; wait 30–60 minutes
- Stay hydrated between meals — keep water on your nightstand as a reminder
- Practice deep breathing — helps relax the abdominal muscles and supports elimination
